Ever since his wife, Ava, was taken from him in a brutal car accident, Corvus Deryn yearned for death. The only thing that keeps him from killing himself is the fear of ending up in Hell, without the possibility of seeing his wife again.
But tonight he is visited by a strange, supernatural entity calling herself Midnight. Part sugary calavera, part porcelain ballerina, she offers Corvus the chance to be reunited with Ava... if he does a job for her first.
The job? Come with her to the paranormal city of the dead called Disturbia, become the prime attraction in Midnight’s brothel and pleasure an elite selection of monster women. Only then will Midnight lead the way to Corvus’ wife.
The bargain seems simple enough, but Corvus begins to think Midnight isn’t being entirely truthful. What is she hiding from him? And where, in the twisted spires of Disturbia, could Ava possibly be?

The Disturbia Ritual edition by Lilith K Duat Maria DeLynn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Disturbia is aptly named for the macabre labyrinth filled with manipulative creatures you hope you never meet in a dark alley!
Who doesn't love a story about a tortured hero who is on a journey for the lost love of his life. We care about him and his quest, and feel his pain as he goes through the challenges necessary to claim his love again. He must conquer and satisfy certain requirements before proceeding to the next challenge.
The author has done a great job of pulling the reader immediately into the story and not letting go until the very end. I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Lilith K. Duat and Maria DeLynn deliver a unique and dark erotica story with, The Disturbia Ritual. This is not a novel I would typically choose to read, but the writing and the character development is so well done that I found it hard to put down once I started. The authors use erotica to create a unique and beautifully detailed world that requires a lot from its characters.
The character development and the scenes are told using powerful imagery and is written in a style unlike other erotica stories we may have happened upon. The Disturbia Ritual is filled with twists and turns and will keep you guessing until the very last page. The writing is so well done that you quickly forget that the story is based upon erotic fantasies and out of this world characters. This is a fantastic novel that I would recommend to all (age appropriate of course) readers who are looking for a fantastical and well written story.

WOW. Just, wow. I wish I never read this book. I wish I read it sooner.
I have nothing to say and too much to say all at the same time. Every once in a while I get to read a book that just blows my mind and fills me with so much inspiration that I want to just print out all the pages and paste them on my walls so that I could live in its pages until I have consumed, obsessed over and worked out every one of its words until it’s a part of me.
This was such a book.
How do I even start this review? What should I begin to describe first? How can I even do it justice?
Corvus has lost his wife to death. He battles with the loss of her every day until one night when a porcelain doll enters his room and promises him a chance to see his wife again. But in order to see her again he must do something for Lady Midnight first; pleasure her collection of monstrous women in order to find the keys that will eventually lead him to his wife again.
What was it about this book that had me so enthralled? Was it the beautiful sense of melancholy that permeated all throughout this book? Was it the wonderfully creative world these authors weaved, which smacked of a dark hybrid between A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Alice (Alex?) in Wonderland? Was it the beauty in the eroticism that was escalated by the hints of the forbidden and grotesque? Or was it in the way the authors gorgeously worked in metaphors for death and the harbingers thereof, from blackbirds to cages to angels of death and calaveras?
Maybe it’s all of those, maybe it’s none of those. All I know is that underneath it all there was a beautifully ethereal fairy tale and an epic romance told that has me wishing I suffered from a severe case of memory loss so I could experience it all over again.
The Disturbia Ritual is described as Gothic Erotica, but I can’t in good conscience call it that. It was SO much more than that. I cannot recommend this book enough.
(ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review)
Starting this review I still don't know how many stars to give this interesting piece of work. The writing is poetic, the world setting is as if it was born from director Guillermo del Toro's fantastic mind - say Pan's Labirynth and Hellboy 2 - dark, slightly disturbing and beautiful in its own right.
And that's it.
Each chapter of this novella contains one encounter which is almost every time explicit, exploring the fantasy of having sex with a different mythological or paranormal creature.
These scenes and their poetic description - not straying at all from the tone that is used to describe the surroundings - left me completely detached. The permanent switching between the main character Corvus and his partners is not helping, quite the contrary.
I caught myself skipping those scenes, hoping to learn more about the two leads Corvus and Midnight, already anticipating what was happening at the end of the book, which wasn't a big surprise. I must admit that the final revelation was fitting just too perfect and was annoying for me.
It is a book centered around erotica, but it didn't make me feel anything. The writing style makes it appear like a fable, which it isn't. I can't find any lesson or meaning behind this story. Probably I simply don't get it. Yes, it has some disturbing content, a unique setting and for me, personally, it didn't live up to its potential.
I really liked this read, and highly recommend to anyone looking for a dash of fantasy with their erotica.
